Gastronomic Glastonbury might seem a bit of a bold claim to make but the Edinburgh Foodies Festival is confident they can live up to it.
I know that the main purpose of this blog is primarily cocktail events related but you’d struggle to live in Edinburgh and not become a foodie at some point. Plus I love anything that supports the Edinburgh food and drink biz so when I heard about this I was definitely intrigued.
For the Edinburgh foodies amongst us, you might be drawn by the strong Edinburgh presence including chef demonstrations from Six by Nico, Ondine, Harajuku Kitchen, The Pompadour, Fhior Restaurant and Cafe St Honore.
For the drink snobs amongst us, the drinks theatre has a line up of seasoned professionals teaching your about ‘The Perfect Prosecco’ or pairing ‘Spanish wines with Spanish foods’. I also love that they have some beer tasting from Edinburgh beer stalwarts such as Stewarts Brewery & Edinburgh Beer Factory.
Adding to the festival ~vibes~ there will be live music acts in the evenings with a new Musicians against Homelessness stage . I’m low key excited at the idea of the the Oasis experience and they also have sets from Toploader and the Hoosiers. If the sun stays how it is currently, we’re in for a treat of a weekend.
I’ve not got the adjectives left in me to describe the rest of the festival but other things I’ll be keen to try include the vintage cider tent. You can also bet money on me getting an insta with the GIANT pimms teapot. #basic
